Ricordo una vecchia discussione che aveva funzionato con alcuni pc (ma non con tutti)
wolgui-0.1-i486.pet
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?mode=attach&id=23120Q1. How to use ?
A1. Setup and usage instructions below:
1. Set the target machine BIOS to wake on PME/LAN/etc ...
2. If the target machine is also a puppy, install the pet package on it.
3. Install the pet package on your main puppy machine.
4. Restart your window manager (ie. JWM) to update the menu.
5. Ping the target machine, then cat /proc/net/arp to get the MAC address.
6. Run the Wake-On-Lan GUI from the menu
7. Enter the target MAC address and click Wake Up .....
Command Line Interface mode and valid CLI options
usage: wolgui [-gui] [-m MAC] [-i IP] [-p port]
-gui : starts gui from commandline
-m : MAC Address (default: 00:00:00:00:00:00)
-p : port number (default: 9)
-i : IP Address (default: local multicast)
example: wolgui -m 01:02:03:04:05:06
Q2. Saving MAC address used ?
A2. Yes, a validated MAC address will be saved in /etc/wolMAC.lst.
MAC Address is validated only after you click Wake Up.
Q3. What's this local network group checkbox for ?
A3. Used for sending the wake-up packet on the local LAN using multicast.
Unchecking this will enable the IP entry. It will then send the wake-up
packet using broadcast (which I read somewhere is supposedly discouraged).
Q4. TODO List ?
A4. Figure out how to find available MACs on the LAN network.
Q5. What the ... why another wakeonlan ?
A5. For fun. I looked for a pure bash method to do this but I haven't found
one yet. I also wanted to know how to actually do it myself. So, now I know ...
